Events: Trocaire Camp: Pamoja Human Rights Summer School 2007

This event proved particularly useful as it focused on human rights issues specific to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with particular focus on the issue of the Separation Wall/Security Fence. The Programme Manager of Schools Across Borders was invited to prepare and implement a workshop on this issue. We therefore used our own video project material and posters as main resources. This exercise also provided an opportunity for two student past-participants of our schools programme to co-facilitate the workshop, and who had been invited to join the summer camp by prior agreement with Trocaire. These two students therefore applied the language, themes and project material which they had already worked on in their respective school group programmes (project aims and objectives; background information, video presentations of the Israeli and Palestinian students and posters).

The Programme Manager and two ex-participant students also assisted in preparing and implementing a street campaign to promote public awareness of the issues involved in the Separation Wall/Security Fence.
